Rod Kim – The 2013 Interview with Electronic Pop Duo RKVC.

Rod Kim, RKVC, Electronic PopRod Kim is one half of the self-deprecating romantic pop rock and electronic pop duo RKVC. In this 2013 interview, Rod Kim is interviewed by best friend and bandmate Vince Cirino. Rod went from growing up in Greentown, IN to studying contemporary music at Greenville College near St. Louis. After college, he went on to create the beginnings of what would become a brand of romantic pop rock. After meeting multi-instrumentalist Vince Cirino, the duo began working on a romantic pop rock and electronic pop hybrid that would become RKVC.

In this brief 2013 interview, Rod Kim speaks briefly about his life from the cornfields of Greentown, IN to the university years at Greenville College. Early on in his career in music, his second commercial single “Tomorrow She’s Mine” put him on the map by being included on the hit XBox 360 video game ROCK BAND 2. The sophomore album was co-written by future bandmate Vince Cirino. In this 2013 interview, they discuss the serendipitous events that brought them to creating music together and filming video episodes.

Rod Kim & Vince Cirino: Mixing the feel & soul of the singer/songwriter genre with a noncommittal love for modern electronic pop. Together, they have created RKVC, representing escapism, great music and happiness. The musical stylings of their collective songwriting evolved from the lightly electronic pop of “Tomorrow She’s Mine” to epic EDM and swagger pop tracks such as “We Got Tonight” and “Lifeline”. Fate willing, Rod Kim and Vince Cirino will have many more stories and songs to tell and write with RKVC. This is the 2013 interview with Rod Kim – self-deprecating romantic pop rock for the masses.
